Group Activities for Kids in Northern Virginia: Playdates, Fundraisers & More

August 26, 2026

Back-to-school season has a funny way of filling the calendar FAST. New classes, new teams, new activities, new parent group chats, and suddenly everyone is looking for a way to get together.

Enter, Scramble.

Kick off the school year with a class playdate. Make Scramble part of your homeschool group’s regular routine. Rally your school community around a fundraiser. Bring the team together to celebrate a new season.

And when “back to school” isn’t so new anymore? Keep coming! Because kids needing to play, and parents needing easy ways to keep them busy definitely isn’t seasonal.

With indoor play locations in Alexandria, Falls Church and Scramble Parkour in Shirlington, Scramble makes it easy for kids, families, teams and groups to play, connect and celebrate together all year long.

Make Scramble Part of Your Routine

New school year, new schedule, why not add more play to it?

Scramble’s Recurring Group Discount makes it easy (and affordable!) to turn playtime into a regular thing.

It’s perfect for homeschool groups, parent groups, school and daycare groups, recurring playdates and other groups looking for fun indoor activities for kids in Northern Virginia.

Simply pre-book at least two group visits to qualify and you’ll enjoy:

✨ $5 per child (minimum 10 children)
✨ Adults FREE
✨ 10% OFF café purchases
✨ 2-hour reservation
✨ Available Monday–Friday during daytime hours (Friday offer ends when BONANZA pricing begins).

Kids get two hours to play, explore and burn some energy. Adults get time to catch up.

And nobody has to check the weather forecast five times before leaving the house.

We’d call that a win.

Play, Eat AND Raise Money for Your School

Can You Host a School Fundraiser at Scramble? Yup! You sure can!

Schools and organizations can host fundraisers at Scramble Alexandria and Scramble Parkour in Shirlington, giving families a fun way to get together while raising money for their organization. Because fundraising is a whole lot easier when the fundraiser is something families actually want to do.

When families visit during your scheduled fundraiser and mention your school or organization, 20% of their total purchase goes directly back to your organization.

They play. Grab something from the café. Catch up with friends. Meanwhile, you’re raising money.

Scramble fundraisers are a great fit for:

  • Schools
  • PTAs and PTOs
  • Youth sports teams
  • Clubs
  • Homeschool communities
  • Community organizations

No complicated fundraiser. No selling wrapping paper to your relatives. Just invite your community to come have some fun and enjoy some extra funds towards whatever you need most.

New Class? New Team? New Season? Start It Together!

There’s something about the beginning of a new school year or sports season that deserves a little celebration. And getting everyone together somewhere the kids can actually do something makes it even better.

Plan a back-to-school bash, class playdate, team kickoff, parent social or group celebration at Scramble and give everyone a chance to connect outside of school, practice or the group chat.

Kids can play while families meet each other, catch up and settle into the new routine. But you definitely don’t need a new school year as an excuse.

Scramble is an easy spot for:

Team celebrations: Kick off a new season or celebrate one that just wrapped up.

Class get-togethers: Give classmates (and their parents) a chance to get to know each other outside of school.

Homeschool meetups: Add active play and social time to your group’s calendar.

Parent group outings: The kids stay busy. The adults can actually finish a conversation. Maybe.

Just-because playdates: No team. No event. No big occasion. Sometimes getting everyone together is reason enough.

And with special pricing just for groups, why wouldn't you plan a get together at Scramble?

Why Scramble Works for Group Activities

Getting ten kids and their parents in the same place is hard enough. Finding something everyone will enjoy shouldn’t make it harder.

At Scramble, kids have space to move, climb, explore and play while adults have a chance to connect.

Plus, we’re indoors. Rain? Play. Cold? Play. Way-too-hot Northern Virginia afternoon? You guessed it. Play.

Add café options to the mix, and you can turn an ordinary playdate or meetup into an easy afternoon out without adding three more stops to your day.

That makes Scramble a fun, easy option for indoor group activities, kids’ playdates, homeschool outings, school events and team celebrations in Northern Virginia, no matter what season is on the calendar.
